Dr. Karan Raj Aggarwala completed a B.Sc. (H) degree in optometry from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in 1989. He went on to complete a Ph.D. degree in Vision Science from the State University of New York in 1996. |

He received the National Research Service Award from the National Eye Institute for research on chromatic mechanisms in the control of accommodation from 1992-1995.
|
He worked in a contact lens and in a glaucoma specialty practice in New York City. Thereafter Dr. Karan worked in a post-doctoral fellowship in nutrition in New Jersey from 1998-2000, studying the effects of nutrition on myopia, macular degeneration, cataract and dry eye.
|
He was inducted into fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry in 1999. He returned to India in October 2000 and has been involved in various clinical, research, mentoring and teaching assignments in Delhi and Gurgaon.
|

His associate optometrist Shruti Kapoor specializes in vision therapy (eye exercises for children), accurate optical correction (spectacles and contact lenses), and computer vision syndrome (stress from computer use).

Computer eye-strain: With computers becoming as indispensable as telephones in a workplace, there are increasing incidences of eye strain due to computers. Symptoms include headaches, irritated eyes, blurred vision due to accommodation difficulty, double vision and altered color perception. One must get glasses with accurate prescription suited for one’s workstation and an anti-radiation coating. Breaks of one minute every twenty minutes are recommended. The way in which you arrange your workstation makes a great difference in how your eyes feel while working.
