With this July issue, we start rolling
the monthly juggernaut of Consumer VOICE publication. The
marketing unit is already in conversation with our member
subscribers, regarding the adjustments required in their subscription
formats. With this initiative we hope to increase our visibility
and register our presence in your lives more frequently than
ever before. Our work has, as of now, doubled but so have
our opportunities of meeting you, and hearing from you. We
really expect our to and fro traffic to increase and gather
momentum, for all round better communication.
Consumer VOICE has been steadily working towards
raising awareness about the urgent need for consumers to use
energy efficiently as well as pressuring the policy makers
to support consumer choice by giving a standardisation mark
for easy identification of energy efficient electronic products.
We urge consumers to familiarise themselves with the logo
and exercise their right to choice by purchasing products
that carry the EE mark.
The Consumer VOICE Editorial Corpus Fund has brought us nearly
a hundred friends last year. We have made a coup of sorts
because some of the contributions for this last month have
come from friends who are contributing a second time round
with double or more the amount sent earlier. We say a big
thank you to Rani Shailendra Kumari of Jodhpur, SP Agarwal
of Delhi, and Shankar H Pathak of Bangalore and hope that
not only will the family of our friends continue to increase
but that many of you will make it at least a yearly cycle
with redoubled strength, if not make our lives easier by sending
a windfall our way, once and for all.
A lot is happening in VOICE and we wish for you to share this
excitement with us. We launched our online Consumer VOICE
on the 31st of May on the World No Tobacco Day, combining
the two. This is a landmark in our efforts to widen our outreach
and to increase the family of member subscribers.
We really believe in the right to consumer choice. Now you
can pick what you need from our print versions of Hindi and
English Consumer Voice.
