Birds have a close relationship with humans as pets, as objects of beauty and wonder, as symbols of peace, wisdom and vanity. As pets, they are entertaining, affectionate and offers a great deal of companionship.

For a first time bird buyer, smaller birds like Pigeons, Mynah, Love birds, Parakeets which are comparatively less expensive and can be hand tamed; and Canaries which can sing, are the best choices.

Buying A Pet

It is always better and safer to get your pet bird from a reliable source.

A reputable breeder or a bird pet shop that have a good knowledge as well as a bright and clean environment may be the right place to buy one.

One can also make enquiries about a particular place from people who had already bought from them. If the price quoted is too good to be true, always take care to find out whether they are legal or not.

If you are looking for imported birds, make sure that they are not smuggled.
Legally imported birds would have stainless steel leg bands.
