| Privacy Policy |
As a voluntary organization working for protection of consumers
rights, we regularly need to collect information from certain
members through website, email or paper based communications.
The respect of privacy is essential for building a trust-worthy
relationship between the VOICE and the members and as such
VOICE has made the following provisions for the protection
of personal data.
Information Collection
E-mail addresses
We ask subscribers who register for our online services
to provide us with their e-mail addresses so we can send
them e-mail news briefings. Consumer VOICE sells, rents,
or lends e-mail addresses of users to anyone. The information
from subscribers is not made available to advertisers or
anyone else outside Consumer VOICE.
User names and passwords
Each visitor who registers to use this service has a user
name and password. Hence, after registration each visitor
will be known as member of consumer voice. Member may choose
his or her own user name and password.
Passwords are the private property of the member. For reasons
of security and privacy, we do not give out passwords to
anyone.
Subscription/Unsubscription
If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for your
contact information such as name and email address. Out
of respect for your privacy we provide a way to opt-out
of these communications. Users can subscribe or unsubscribe.
Mail this page to a friend
Through this function, you can e-mail the content of a news
article to a friend or colleague. In such instances, you
are asked to provide your email address (to appear as the
message sender) and the recipient’s email address.
Forum Registration
In order to use the Inter-Act forum like Discussion Forum,
you must first complete a registration form. You are required
to give contact information (such as name and email address)
and to choose a username and password. The email address
is not disclosed on the forum.
Event registration forms
After registration for any VOICE event such as “World
No Tobacco Day 2006” and “Consumer Panchayat
2006”, you are asked to provide contact information
(such as name, email, and shipping address). If there is
any cost related to the event, we may request financial
information (such as credit card number, expiry date) for
billing purposes (See also Credit Card Transactions). Contact
details will be used to inform you about the events in detail.
To facilitate networking at VOICE events, we may distribute
the list of registrations to the participants. In such cases,
we will ask for your authorisation on the registration form.
Public Comments & Members Feedback
The development of VOICE publications is based on a multi-member
process that regularly solicits feedback and comments from
member. To ensure required transparency, comments and feedback
submitted are generally considered as public record and
can be reproduced partly or wholly on this website. After
submission of feedback, you will be asked to provide personal
details such as name, occupation and email address. Contact
details will not be made public and will be used to contact
you if we need to clarify your contribution.
Credit card Transactions
To ensure the security of your credit card transaction,
we use an intermediary, Ccavenue Payment Gateway, to process
your credit card details through a secured connection. Ccavenue
returns the transaction status to VOICE (i.e. whether the
charge was accepted by the credit card company) and the
name and address of the card holder.
Survey Reports
If you have participated in any conducted by VOICE Guidelines.
Your contact details will be collected and will remain confidential,
VOICE will not share these with third parties except with
your written submission.
