If a product doesn’t contain tobacco then there is
no reason for promoting that a product has no tobacco
When you speak against tobacco complaints some kind of protection
to the complainant should be given
In case of violation by the media, there should be stiffer
punishment.
Any brand, logo or corporate name once associated with tobacco
products should be banned immediately
Govt should instruct to reserve some specific percentage
of advertising for promoting health themes including tobacco
control
Dedicated enforcement & monitoring agencies at district
& city level
There should be provision to empower NGOs & dedicated
tobacco control volunteers to intervene the violation under
section 5 of the Act
Under Section 5: it should be specifically mentioned as
a cognizable offence
Any corporate can have two logos & brand names which
have registered under clause 34 of TM Act- one for tobacco
products and other for non tobacco products
The maximum punishment under section 22 should be enhanced
Legal support and funding for filing cases against tobacco
companies
