FEELING LEFT OUT

Self-esteem is generally a good indicator of how you handle rejection. If you're very secure, being left out won't make such a dent.

Welcome advice

Monitor conversations. Make sure that everyone has spoken atleast once before you speak again. If you are utilizing more than an equal share of the airtime, switch from talking to asking questions.

Especially if several people are trying to speak limit yourself to three sentences at a time.

Still having problems? Perhaps, you're trying to fi into the wrong group. Accept the fact that some groups are closed to new members or have a style that's different from yours.

Plan events and get-togethers yourself-you're guaranteed an invitation. Start a book discussion group. You're a movie buff? Invite a neighbour to the movie house. Play tennis? Ask a colleague to join you for a game of singles.
