World No Tobacco Day was celebrated on 31^st May all over India by various state partners with support from Consumer Voice. To celebrate this day workshops and rallies were organized in Hyderabad, Telangana to generate awareness and risks associated with tobacco consumption.

A workshop was organised by Consumer Awareness and Research Centre in association with Lion’s club in Hyderabad to celebrate the World No Tobacco Day.

Mr.Chandra Kumar, Former High Court Judge was the Chief Guest for the event. The other distinguished guest were doctors, tobacco activists, advocates namely Dr.B.Chandrakant Rao, Mr. V.Gaurishankar Rao, Advocate Mohd.Ali, Dr.Aulappa.

Mr.Hemant Upadhyay, Advisor, Consumer VOICE also addressed the audience and urged the government to put Bidis in the highest taxation slab and also urged the public to come forward and play their role strongly.
At the seminar posters and pamphlets on Tobacco awareness were distributed to audience. Around 80-90 people from Consumer Groups, Civil society organisations and doctors working in tobacco prevention participated in the workshop.
