The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), which came into force on 1 May 2016, seeks to protect the interests of homebuyers as much as it hopes to boost investments in the real estate sector. The Act has given the Indian real estate industry its first regulator. Roopa Vajpeyi: An Era Gone By

Roopa Vajpeyi (1946-2018)

The nation lost one of the fierce consumer activists and we at Consumer VOICE lost our first VOICE!

Roopa was the first editor of the Consumer VOICE Magazine and she held the fort for almost two decades. She passed away peacefully at her residence on February 10, 2018. She was diagnosed with last stage of lung cancer. The end came after brief hospitalization. She is survived by her daughter Ananya Vajpeyi. Read More
